I completed practicum II in the fall of 2016 at St. Mary's Grade School. This experience was just as enlightening as the first. I was placed in a fourth grade classroom and experienced observing a male teacher for the first time. It was also my first experience in a private school as well. While doing practicum, the teacher informed me that this was his most difficult class in the eight years he had been teaching. Over half the class were diagnosed with ADHD and one student was hearing impaired. I found this challenging but it was a great learning experience because I had to teach all of my lessons with modifications. I also learned a lot more about classroom management in this experience as the students had a hard time following directions. I made good connections with the students and was able to attend outside activities that the students families had invited me too.
